Downtown Atchison invites you to spend the evening exploring the historical and spiritual past of its Downtown District.
- Friday, and Saturday nights in October
- Downtown Atchison, Kansas
- 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm
- $30/ticket
One ticket price opens the doors to a 3-hour exploration into the buildings that still stand, buildings that were washed away, the families that lived and worked in the district, and the energies of the people that still wander the downtown corridor.
Your Whispering Walls journey is divided into 3 sections, the order of which will depend on your assigned group.
Please note the following:
- Participants must meet promptly at 6:30 pm at the cap of the 500 block of the Downtown Mall under the tent.
- This tour involves a lot of walking including stairs within the buildings.
Featured Stops
DOROTHY’S BEAUTY SHOP
Glimpse into untouched 1950’s beauty parlor and young men’s club.
Our walk through downtown Atchison leads us to Dorothy’s Beauty Shop and the Youngtimers Association. Both of these establishments have been abandoned for at least 50 years. The walls are still alive with the chattering of organization meetings and the business of beauty.
5th STREET MERCANTILE
Speak to the spirits using the Estes method.
An introduction to our gifted expert on the Estes Method, Samantha Belvoir. Samantha travels to historic Atchison to share her gifts of translating the whispers that still remain in the walls with her audience by way of the Estes Method.

The Estes Method, which essentially is giving the past a voice, will be demonstrated allowing the audience to ask questions to the spirits present and listen to messages sent to the audience. Samantha and her partner Mike, have been on numerous investigations and active locations. They will be sharing their knowledge and experiences with the audience during a question and answer period at the end of the demonstration.
BACKROAD ATLAS
Learn why spirits attach to certain antiques.
The spiritual attachment of objects is the topic for discussion at Backroad Atlas. The question of energy and attachment has been a hot topic for years. We will share our stories and videos captured in our store and at different locations in Atchison.
